JAMES B. BEZIO

James B. Bezio, 73, of Galway, passed away Thursday morning at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam after a sudden illness. Born on February 14, 1935, in Ausable Forks, NY, he was the son of the late Isadore and Rose Murcray Bezio. He resided in Galway for the past forty years. He was a laborer at the General Electric Co. in Schenectady, retiring after 25 years of service. James also proudly served in the United States Army. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and going to camp for the summer. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and cared for him.

James was the living husband to the late Lillie Mae Malbon Bezio whom he married on January 26, 1963, for a wonderful 19 years. He is survived by his loving and deeply caring children, daughter Diane Gravell and her husband Jesse of Amsterdam; James Bezio Jr. and his wife D'deen of Gloversville; Robert Bezio and his wife Mary of Broadalbin; and son Gordon Bezio and his wife Jane of Galway, his sisters Shirly Hoyt and Elanor Bobar. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews and cousins. He is predeceased also by his brothers, Isadore and Walter Bezio.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 24, 2008, at the Richard J. Ryan Funeral Home, 2034 West St., Galway Village, Galway, NY at 6 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited, and may call at the funeral home from 3 to 6 p.m. prior to the services. Services will also be held at the Harland Funeral Home, 45 South Main St., Port Henry, NY. Monday, August 25, 2008 at 1 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited, and may call at the Harland Funeral Home from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Interment will be in the South Moriah Cemetery, Moriah, NY following the services.
