Mrs Stella G. Hale Called By Death

The community is grieved to learn of the death of Mrs Stella G. Hale, beloved wife of George A. Hale of Afton last Monday evening May 20th at her home.
Mrs Hale has been a prominent woman in the community, a good church worker, and the faithful mother of eight children, all living and of whom she had a right to be proud. She was also the grandmother of five grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, her father, Stephen P. Gheen and the following children; Mrs Jack Frome, Jackson; Aaron Hale, Salt Lake City; Mrs Ken Roundy, Layton, Utah Steve G. Hale, Meas Ariz., Thiel G.Hale, Ogden; Lu G. Hale, Cokeville, Wyoma Hale and George G. Hale Afton.
Funeral services will be held Friday in the Afton South Ward Chapel. An account of the services and her life will be published next week.

Sister Hale as a splendid cook, a true L.D.S. wife and mother, and stated he had always found a welcome and charitable spirit in her home. He also read two poems considered appropriate.
President R.S. Papworth ws the final speaker. He remembered that he had attended school in the same classroom as Stella and that she was an outstanding student. He also remembered having seen her perform many times in ward dramatics, being a natural elocutionist. He stated that, therefore, whenever he hears of members of her family making advances in scholarship, public speaking ect. he always thinks of their mother. President Papworth referred also to the time her husband had given to various callings in the church which would not have been possible except he had the co-operation and assistance of his wife. In closing he appealed to the children to remember and observe the teachings of their mother.
Interment was in the Afton City Cemetery in the family burial plot. William W, Hake dedicated the grave.
Out-of-town relatives, outside the immediate family, attending the funeral were: William W. Hale Salt Lake City; Thomas E. Hale, Logan; Mrs Willard E. Call, Bancroft, Idaho; Mr and Mrs Benjamin Wilhelmson, Salt Lake city; Mrs Audrin Pixton, Salt Lake City; Mrs Austin Willis and daughter, Thelma, Clifton, Idaho; Donald Gheen, Clifton, Idaho; Mr and Mrs Estel Whitney, Ogden; Mr and Mrs C.R. Williamson, Montpelier; and Mr and Mrs Ira Law Montpelier.
