AITCHISON, Racelia Ann (Tuttle)

Born Racelia Ann Tuttle to Robert F. and Landona I. Tuttle on March 5, 1925 in Spokane, WA. Died in Spokane on January 8, 2007 after a lengthy illness. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Robert Landon Tuttle of Tacoma, WA. She attended Frances Willard Elementary School and North Central High School, graduating in January 1943. She also attended Kinman Business University in Spokane. Racelia married William F. Aitchison; they had four children: Barbara Harvey of Longmont, CO, Leslie Sellers of Lincoln, NE,Susan Reid of Spokane, and John Aitchison of Phoenix, AZ; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Racelia worked for many years at the Spokane and Eastern Bank, followed by a long career with the State of Washington before retiring in 1982. For many years, she worked as a field auditor for the Department of Employment Security. In addition to a loving family, Racelia had a wide circle of friends and acquaintances. She and her husband, Bill, enjoyed traveling,especially if it involved seeing one of their grandchildren. Her favorite destinations were San Francisco, where she and Bill lived during WWII and Hawaii. She and Bill participated in the functions of The Knife and Fork Club for a number of years, and were also subscribers to the Civic Theatre. Also members of the Elks Club, BOF Lodge and various other organizations. In later years, she particularly enjoyed the frequent gatherings of North Central High School alumnae. Her family and friends, who enjoyed her zest and enthusiasm for life, will sadly miss her. She is survived by her husband, William Aitchison; her four children; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother, James l. Tuttle of Wenatchee, WA. A Memorial Service will be held in celebration of her life at a point in the near future. Donations may be made in her name to the Inland Northwest Alzheimer's Association, 920 W. 5th Ave., Suite 256, Spokane , WA 99204.
