Virginia Elmira Hayes Wallace, 92, a native of Lauderdale County, passed away Friday, Feb. 18, 2011, at Mitchell-Hollingsworth Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was a member of New Hope Church of Christ and retired from Genesco Garment Factory.
Visitation will be 1-2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 21, 2011, at New Hope Church of Christ, with the funeral service following at 2 p.m. Officiating will be Carl Seigenthaler. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery.
Mrs. Wallace was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Wallace; parents, Minnis and Mary Hayes; four brothers; and four sisters.
She is survived by her son, Thomas Earl Wallace Jr. (Barbara); sisters, Velma England, Euna White; grandchildren, John Earl Wallace, Christi Wallace and William David Wallace; great-grandson, Christopher Lee Wallace.
Pallbearers will be John Earl Wallace, William David Wallace, Dwight England, Jimmy Smith, Robbie Brown and Jonothan Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Wesson, Harold Rhodes and Christopher Lee Wallace.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses and staff at Mitchell-Hollingsworth Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
