FORMER DELHI RESIDENT DIES IN ALTON
Funeral of Mrs. Ross Saturday

Mrs. Mary E. Ross, aged 87 years, the last survivor of a large family of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Jokers, of Delhi, died Thursday at the home of her son, Edw. C. Ross, in Alton.

Mrs. Ross, a native of Baden, Germany, was reared in Delhi, spending a greater part of her life in that vicinity, but since the death of her husband nine years ago, she has resided with her son in Alton.

She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Craig of Alton, Mrs. Fred Breitweiser and Mrs. Dixon Mundle of Delhi, and one son, Edward Ross of Alton. She also leaves 22 grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held from the Ross residence Saturday, November 22nd, at two o'clock with Rev. O.W. Heggemeier officiating. Interment was in the Marston Cemetery, near Delhi.

Woman Born in Germany Came to Alton From Delhi

Mrs. Mary E. Ross, 87, the sole survivor of a family of children of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Jokers of Delhi, died early this morning at the home of her son, Edward C. Ross, 3229 Brown Street.

Mrs. Ross, born in Baden, Germany, and reared in the Delhi neighborhood, had made her home in Alton with her son since the death of her husband nine years ago. Mrs. Ross was brought to America in her early youth and, shortly after her arrival here, with her parents settled in Jersey County. Since coming to Alton, she affiliate with the Evangelical Church and was a regular attendant there whenever her health permitted. She as also an active member of the Evangelical Aid Society.

Surviving her in addition to her son, are three daughters, Mrs. Craig of Alton and Mrs. Fred Breitweiser and Mrs. Dixon Mundle of Delhi. She also leaves 22 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

The body will be removed from the Bauer & Hoehn funeral home to the residence on Brown Street Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The funeral will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. from the residence with the Rev. O.W. Heggemeier officiating. Burial will be in the Marston cemetery near Delhi.
