Miss Laura Mariah Wotring, 80, of Aurora died early yesterday morning at the home of a niece, Mrs. Rebecca Lantz of Aurora, after a brief illness. She was born June 20, 1876, in Aurora, a daughter of the late Samuel W. and Martha Harsh Wotring. She was a member of the Aurora Methodist Church. Surviving are three Sisters, Mrs. Cora Clair of Akron, Ohio, Mrs. Virginia Wotring of Terra Alta, Mrs. Callie Arnold of Bayard, and many nieces and nephews.

Her middle name was taken from her maternal grandmother, Mariah Porter Harsh. She was never married, and did domestic work. She took in children that had no families.
She died at 80 years old from carcinomatosis, original site undetermined.
