Word of the death of Harry Phillips, 83, of Opa Locka, Fla., a former Jasper County resident, was received by relatives here. Mr. Phillips died at 2 a.m. Sunday, June 29, 1975, in a Florida hospital. Funeral arrangements are presently incomplete. Mr. Phillips was born in Jasper County, a son of John and Alice Phillips. He left here many years ago and was a retired railroader. Surviving are his wife, the former Lula Lewis of Newton; a married daughter, Elaine; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Howard and Ora, both of Newton; and a sister, Mrs. Minnie Babbs of Newton; also several nieces and nephews.
