Published obituary
William Easdale died at his residence on south Chestnut street in Olathe, Kansas, on January 31st. He was born in Ohio county, Indiana, February 7th, 1826, so that at the time of his death he was eighty-two years of age. Mr Easdale came to Johnson County, Kansas, in 1865 and settled on his farm southwest of Olathe, where he resided until about twelve years ago when he moved to Olathe. He has been in poor health for about two years. During his illness he often expressed the wish to die feeling that he could never recover. He suffered patiently and waited hopefully for the end.

Mr Easdale was a man of splendid character and beloved by all who knew him. His life was spent in good works and many will miss him. He joined the Christian church at the age of twenty-two and for sixty years was a member. He was married four times and was the father of sixteen children, six of whom survive him. John Easdale, who was sheriff of Johnson County for four years, was a son of the deceased.
