Obituary; Deseret Evening News 15 August 1903
PARK VALLEY.
Walter Floyd Carter, a Promising Youth, Laid to Rest.
Special Correspondence.
Park Valley, Boxelder Co., Aug. 13. - On Aug. 10 Walter Floyd Carter, the 16-year-old son of Erastus F. and Alice E. Carter, succumbed to the ravages of Bright's disease, after an illness of nine weary months. He was a bright, lovable and obedient boy, and none knew him but to love him, and he will be greatly missed not only by his immediate family but by the entire community. He was born here Dec. 13, 1887. The funeral services were held in the schoolhouse, and were largely attended. Bishop James M. Palmer presided, and a quartet of young ladies rendered sweet music. Loving tributes to the memory of the departed and consoling remarks to the bereaved were made by Stake President Charles Kelly, Bishops Palmer and A. Goodliffe. The large cortege was headed by a guard of honor, composed of six schoolmates of the deceased, mounted on horses.

BIRTH& DEATH: some records have birth 16 Dec 1887 and death 9 Aug 1903. I'm not sure which version is correct.
