Mr. Carson was a Washington County native and a son of the late Brook and Neil Deakins Carson.
He was a farmer.
Mr. Carson was a member of the Farm Bureau.
He was a member of the Jonesborough United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Barbara Diehl Carson; one son, Mike Carson, Knoxville; one brother, James Carson, Jonesborough; and two grandsons, Timothy Carson and Matthew Carson, both of Knoxville.

Funeral services for Donald Deakins Carson will be at 8:30 Wednesday, Jan 10, 2001 at the Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home Chapel with Rev Connie Mack Farmer and Dr. Ken LaDuke officiating.
Pallbearers will be Richard Diehl, Ralph Maden, Kyle Carson, Chris Diehl, Jared Diehl, Joe Diehl, Kent Maden, Pat Maden, Bill Keefauver and Lynn Taylor.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 30 p.m. Wednesday prior to the service. Interment services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan 11. 2001, in Fairview Cemetery.
