Mrs. Isabelle Eugenia Sowers, 66 years old, died last midnight at the home of her daughter, Mrs. B. F Russell on Morton avenue, after an illness of five month. On October 7 she was stricken with apoplexy following which she was taken from her home at 419 Virginia avenue to the home of her daughter. She had been bedfast since November, and had gradually failed for the last several weeks.
The deceased was born in Morrow county, near Columbus, O., on January 15, 1848, the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. William Page. At the age of two years she moved with her parents to Montpelier, O., where in 1870, she was married to John Sowers. They lived in Edgerton, O., for 14 years. Mr. Sowers being a prominent farmer of that vicinity. Later they moved to LaGrange, Ind., where they resided for 17 years. Seven years ago they moved to Elkhart. The following year Mr. Sowers died, since when Mrs. Sowers had lived with her daughter Mable.
She is survived by the following children; Walter and Wesley of Goshen; William of Sylvia, Wis., and Wayne of South Bend; Mrs. B. F. Russell and Mable Sowers of Elkhart and a sister , Mrs. S. A. Michaels of Bryan, O.
The funeral will be held at one o'clock, Friday at the home of Mrs. Russell, which is the first house south of Lusher avenue on Morton avenue. Services will be conducted by Rev. R. J. Wade and the body will be shipped to Goshen on a special car, leaving at 2 0'clock. Interment wil be in Oak Ridge cemetery.
