Herbert Preston Williams of Shelby Twp., Michigan passed away Wednesday, March 9th, 2016; at Crittenton Hospital in Rochester, Michigan.
Mr. Williams was 83 years old. He was retired from General Motors Corporation, Pontiac Division with 34 years of service. He also served over 11 years in the United States Air Force. He was a Master Parachutist with 70 parachute jumps from military air planes. He also served three years in the North Carolina National Guard. Mr. Williams had a high school education and two years of college. He was a native of Sampson County, North Carolina.

His late wife, Karen Ann Kukuk of Mount Clemens, Michigan died of cancer
in January of 2003.
Mr. Williams is survived by his daughter, Erika Rochelle Carlson; step-children, Elise Jean Shohl and William B. Austin. His 7 grandchildren; Noah Brian Carlson, Christopher Austin, Scott Austin, Lorrie Surchik, Robert Coffey, Joshua Coffey and Frannie Coffey. Also great-grandchildren; Cole Surchik, Ethan Surchik, Brittany Coffey, Christian Coffey, Preston Coffey, Kara Lawfield and Damon Ambrose.
He is also survived by his sister, Bonnie Pope of Turkey, North Carolina.
