"Obituary: James "Dude" Mays-Construction Worker
Mineral Wells: James A. "Dude" Mays of Oran [Northern Palo Pinto County, Texas] died Thursday at a Mineral Wells Hospital. He was 77. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM tomorrow at the Oran Baptist Church. Burial will be in Oran Cemetery. Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Home in Mineral Wells is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Mays was born in Farmersville, Collin County, Texas, and had lived in Oran since 1975. He was a retired construction worker and a member of the Church of Christ. Mr. Mays was a member of the Mason's Lodge in Graford and the Scottish Rite in Houston. He served in the U. S. Navy in WW II. Survivors are wife Bessie Mays of Oran, three sisters, Fannie Barksdale and Mary Porter, both of Fort Worth, and Louise Stockton of Longview, and one brother, W. L. Mays of Fort Worth."
