On Dec. 8, 1950 she was united in marriage to Edwin Floyd Poppens at Delaware Reformed Church of rural Lennox. She lived her entire married life on a farm seven miles north of Lennox.
She was an active and faithful member of the Lennox Presbyterian Church in Lennox.
She was preceded in death by her mother in 1970 and her father in 1981.
Clara Ann died suddenly as the result of injuries received in an automobile accident west of Sioux Falls on Sep. 20, 1982. She attained the age of 50 years, nine months and one day.
Survivors include her widower, Edwin; two sons: Gordon Poppens of Sioux Falls, and James Poppens of Lennox; three daughters: Mrs Allen (Janice) Schmuck of Spencer, IA., Sharon Poppens of Mission, KS. and Kathy Poppens, at home; one grandson, Brian; two brothers: Harold Elcock of Lennox, and WIlbur Elcock of Leavenworth, KS.
