Texas Joe Grant was killed by Billy the Kid. He was drunk and attempted to shoot The Kid. There was no investigation of the shooting or charges filed. When the Postmaster of Sunnyside Springs, Milnor Rudolph, asked Billy about the shooting, he shrugged it off by saying "it was a game of two and I got there first". There was a quick burial with little or no ceremony.
