He was a resident of Ashland all his life. He worked as a machine setup man for Westinghouse Co. in Mansfield for more than 40 years. He loved to bowl and do woodworking.
Mr. Adams was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II.
He was a member of Paradise Hill United Methodist Church and the Mansfield VFW Post.
On Oct. 26, 1940, he was married to Doris A. Hissong, who survives him. He also is survived by four children, Mary Lou (Thomas) Gorog of Arlington, Texas, Phillip (Buajan) Adams of Ashland, Dwight Rex Adams of Mansfield, and Patricia (Will) Dean of Sullivan; five grandchildren, Natalie (Scott) Firenza, Timothy Slarb, Daniel (Paula) Slarb, Kevin Slarb, Kimberly (Andy) Grimm; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, David Eugene Adams, on July 4, 1959; one brother, H. Robert Adams; and an infant sister, Leora Adams.
A service will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 18, 2008, at Paradise Hill United Methodist Church with the Rev. David Case and Pastor Eric Marshall officiating.
