George A. Dobinski, age 80, of Two Rivers, died Tuesday evening, December 9, 2008, at his residence. He was born February 29, 1928, in Two Rivers, son of the late Stanley and Antoinette (Marocek) Dobrzynski. George served with the U.S. Merchant Marines during World War II. On February 21, 1950, he married the former Catherine G. Duenkel in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She preceded him in death May 5, 1994. George was employed as the Executive Chef at the Manitowoc Motor Hotel for 26 years. He later was employed with Manitowoc Engineering and ended his working career as a security guard with the Burger Boat Company. Survivors include a son: George S. Dobinski, Sheboygan; two daughters and a son-in-law: Debra Braun-Bock and Thomas Bock, Port Washington, Linda Dobinski, Manitowoc; five grandchildren: Teruhisa Matsuoka, Sandra Laganowski, Shannon Braun, Tracey Braun, Erika Braun; three great grandchildren: Dalton Matsuoka, Elijah Laganowski, Ethan Laganowski; one brother and sister-in-law: Sylvester & Alice Dobinski, King, WI; two sisters and brothers-in-law: Louise & Leonard Vogel, Dorothy & Mike Samz, all of Two Rivers; and four brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law: LeRoy & Elayne Duenkel, Manitowoc, Elmer & Margaret Duenkel, Manitowoc, Gilbert Szymkowski, Milwaukee, and Alvin Kronforst, Green Bay. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law: Kyoko Dobinski; four brothers: Joey, Al, Steve & Edmund; and four sisters and one brother-in-law: Sue, Gertrude, Lucy & Francis Graves, Delores. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 noon Saturday, December 13, 2008, at St. Francis of Assisi on Grand, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Daniel Schuster with burial at Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc. Graveside Military Rites will be accorded by V.F.W. Otto Oas Post #659. The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Francis of Assisi on Grand, Manitowoc, from 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 13, 2008, until the time of the service at 12:00 noon. The Pfeffer Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
