William J. Hare, 76, of Bryan, Ohio, died Sunday at his daughter's home in Montpeiler Ohio. The North Carolina native was owner and operator of Bill's Welding Services, and retired from Challenge Industries in 1986. He was a World War II Army veteran. Surviving are his wife Betty; a son, William of Austin, Texas; five daughters, Pamela King, of Montpelier, Bonnie S. Schwatzengraber of Bryan, Sheila K. Lehman of Bushnell Fla., Barbara K. Bennett of Niveville, Fla.; and Shelly B. Duncan of Adrian, Mich.; 17 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. A daughter Kathy Hare, preceded him in death. Services at 1 p.m. EDT (noon Fort Wayne time) Wednesday at Oberlin-Ford Funeral Home with calling from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. EDT today. Burial in Shiffler Cemetery, with graveside military rites by VFW Post 2489 Memorials to Community Hospitals of Williams County hospice.
