Funeral services were held on Sunday afternoon in the Elsinore Ward Chapel for WILLIAM R. SMITH, 66, who died October 14, at his home in Elsinore after a long illness.

Services were in charge of Bishop Lorin Christiansen of the Elsinore Ward. Speakers were W.W. Sylvester and Henry J. Kotter. Short remarks were made by Bishop Christiansen. Musical numbers were as follows: Ladies double quartet, accompanied by Mrs. Erwin Staples, sang "Jesus, Lover of my Soul", "I Know My Redeemer Lives" and "My Father Knows"; vocal solo, "In The Garden of Tomorrow", by Talmage DeLange; vocal solo, "Somewhere a Voice is Calling", by Mrs. W.W. Sylvester, accompanied by Mrs. Erwin Staples. The invocation was offered by Leon T Madsen. The benediction was by N.P. Anderson. Interment was in the Elsinore Cemetery, where C.W. Powell, Jr. dedicated the grave.

Mr. Smith was born in Elsinore, a son of William and Christena Marie Peterson Smith. He has spent his entire life in Elsinore. He was a harness maker by trade.

He is survived by the following brothers and sisters; Charles, Ralph and Dewey Smith and Mrs. Rebecca Robinson of Elsinore; Mrs. Zion Powell of Richfield; Mrs. LaVerne Thompson of Hiawatha and Mrs. Cora Rowley of Idaho.
