Robert, age 16, lived in Wilson, Carter Co, OK with his parents, William J. & Hetti Love, ages 57 & 46, who were renting a farm where they farmed to support themselves. William & Hetti had been married 31 years; she had given birth to 14 children, but only 8 were living.

Robert's siblings were Edward, 22; Belle, 20; Emma, 16; Louis G. (should have been George), 31, and George's wife & children: Nettie, age 23; Thelma, 4; & Jewel, 2.

Robert, single, age 23, was living in Legate, OK with his parents when he registered for the WWI Draft in Provence, OK on June 5, 1917. The record indicates that he was born in Smyrna, OK on May 2, 1894. He was described as being short & having blue eyes & brown hair. He only had one eye. He signed his name, Robert Lee Love. He was exempt from serving because of his eye.

Robert, age 26, lived with his parents on their rented farm in Wilson. Robert's wife, Ethel, was 19; they had a son, James T., 8 months old. Other members of the family included his parents, William J. & Hettie J., were 69 & 59. His borther, Mose Love's, son, Calbert, age 9, lived with them as did his brother, George's family. They included George's wife, Nettie, age 32; and his children: Thelma, age 14; Jewell, 12; Pearl, 10; Howard, 8; Bertha, 6; Dortha, 4 years & 1 month. George was serving time in the McAlester Penitentiary.

They were doing general farm work to support the family. Robert & Ethel's children were James T., age 10; Ray, 6; Odis, 4 years & 2 months; Billie J., 2 years & 1 month. Robert's nephew (son of his brother Mose), age 18, was a member of the family.

Their children were James T., age 20; Ray, 18; Robert, 16; Odis H., 14; Billy Joe, 12; Earl M., 10; Jack D., 8; Nancy J., 4; & Mose, 2.

New about the death of Bob & Ethel's daughter, Nancy, was published in the The Daily Ardmoreite on Monday, August 9, 1943.

"NANCY JANE LOVE
Services are pending at the Bettes funeral home for Nancy Jane Love, 8-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R.L. Love, Hoxbar route, who died in Ardmore Sunday.

In addition to the parents, the grandmother, one sister, and eight brothers survive. They are: Mrs. Hettie Jane Love, Ardmore; Annie Bell Love, James Love, Ray Love, Junior Love, Odis Love, Billy Joe Love, Earl Love, David Love, and Mose Love."

"Services for Robert Love will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 10, 1982, in Bettes Chapel. Rev. Gene Cormier, Memorial Christian Church, will officiate with interment in Province Cemetery. Born May 2, 1894, at Marietta, I.T., Love died Feb 8 in a local hospital.

A retired city employee and life-long resident of this area, he was preceded in death by his wife, the former Ethel Vincent. He is survived by a daughter, Annabelle Tellern, New Orleans, La.; eight sons, James, Irving, Texas, Robert, Hot Springs, Ark., Billy Joe, McAlester, David, Stringtown, Ray, Odis, Earl and Mose, Ardmore; 32 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Berarer will be grandsons, Darryl, Harold, Melvin, Glen, Robert and Odis Love. Bettes Funeral Home will direct services."
