He married Lois Schaaf on Jan. 5, 1949, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mineral Point.
He entered the U.S. Army shortly thereafter. Paul was a successful farmer in the Mineral Point/ Dodgeville area his entire life. He was a recipient of the "Farmer of the Year" award. He was an active member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. Paul was a real estate broker and also served on the Iowa County Board. He dearly loved his wife and family. He enjoyed life immensely as his family expanded over the years. He loved playing euchre, hunting, traveling and visiting with family and friends.
Paul is survived by his wife, Lois; his children, Dee-Dee (Jim) Nagle of Onalaska, Mary (Ray) Cooper of Fox River Grove, Ill., Gerald (Victoria) McGraw of Dodgeville, Elly (Tim) Chybowski of Madison, Stan (Robin) McGraw of Mineral Point, Den (Sue) McGraw of Dodgeville, Dave (Maureen) McGraw of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Teresa (Marty) Schmidt of Mount Horeb, Dr. Paul (Heidi) McGraw of Delavan, and Dan (Jill) McGraw of Dodgeville; his grandchildren, Eric and Mark Nagle, Raymond, Kevin and Ann Cooper, Erin, Justin, Megan and Molly McGraw, Emily and Joseph Chybowski, Jason and Bret McGraw, Matt, Peter and Katie McGraw, Ryan and Drew McGraw, Allie, Logan and Andy Schmidt, Kelly and Maggie McGraw, and Cassie McGraw; his sisters, Laura Tuschen of Sun Prairie, Jane Peckham of St. Louis, Mo., and Eleanor (Ray) Gevelinger of Dodgeville; his sisters-in-law, Kathryn McGraw, Mary Alice (Chuck) Ley, Jean (Terry) Kurtzwell, Joan (John) Harding, Dolores (Paul) McCauley and Marcella (Gerald) Stauffacher; his brothers- in-law, Ray (Bernadine) Schaaf and Joseph Conway; many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Stephen; his sisters, Genevieve Laverty, Theresa Weier and Margaret McGraw; and his brothers, Eddie, Danny and John McGraw.
