obituary for MRS. CLIFFORD MELTON from unnamed Missouri paper annotated "Died Feb 16 '64":-
Mrs. Lalla Marie Melton, 70, of Springfield, died at 5:45 a.m. Sunday at Burge-Protestant Hospital where she had been a patient for eight days.
She was a member of the Church of Christ, Johnston and Dale streets, Springfield.
Survivors include her husband, Clifford; a son, Joseph C., 1506 West Atlantic; three sisters, Mrs. Fances Patch, Redlands, Calif., Mrs. Phalia Boteler, San Bernardino, Califo., and Mrs. Maggie Cubbler, Highland, Calif.; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at 1:30 at the Rainey Chapel officiated by Mr. Clarence Feeney. Burial was in the Highlandville Cemetery.
Mrs. Melton was the sister-in-law of Mrs. Oscar McGinnis of Ozark.

Her nephew, Bob, recalls that she had a very large salt and pepper shaker collection in her home.
