Kenneth Dewayne Miller, 43, a farmer of Clarksdale, died of cancer Tuesday, December 9, 2008, at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis.

He was born May 27, 1965 in Clarksdale to Annie Ruth Shivers and Samuel Miller Sr. He was a member of Church of God in Christ, serving as a deacon, trustee, and YPWW teacher. Mr. Miller graduated from Coahoma County High School in 1983 and attended Coahoma Community College.

Mr. Miller is survived by his wife, Yolanda Dixon Miller; his son, Kenneth Miller II; his daughter, Mariah Miller; his father, Samuel Miller Sr.; his brother, Samuel Miler Jr., all of Clarksdale; his sisters, Jacqueline McGee of Memphis, and Cynthia Taylor of Dallas; and his grandmother, Willie Mae Miller of Houston, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Annie Ruth Miller, and his paternal grandfather, Robert Shivers.

Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m., Friday, December 12, at Century Funeral Home in Clarksdale with a wake from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Century Funeral Home Chapel.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m., Saturday, December 13, at St. James Church of God in Christ State Headquarters in Clarksdale with the Bishop T. T. Scott officiating. Burial will follow in McLaurin Gardens.
