Edith (Simon) Weaver was born August 8,1914 in Sheridan County Kansas. She was the youngest of ten children born to Fredrick and Elva (Phelps) Simon. She attended Beehive elementary and Hoxie High School. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church at Studley.

She was united in marriage to Howard Jay Weaver on April 13, 1931. To this union three children were born. After leaving their homestead in Wallace County, during the depression, they moved to Oregon and California. During the war she started her career in the business world as a Supervisor of Publication for the Air Force at Norton Air Base. She continued in all phases of business until shortly before her death. She also devoted her special time to home and family.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; five brothers,Ed Murl, George, Roy and Charlie; three sisters, Emma, Ethel, and Sarah.

She is survived by her sons, Norman (Doris) of Hugoton KS, and Dean (Betty) Arvada CO.; daughter Lois (Tommy) Johnson of McDonald KS.; one sister Minnie (Lonnie) Carder of Hoxie KS., brother and sister-in-law, Nella Simon of Studley KS., Violet Simon of Loveland CO., Mabel Simon of Albany OR., Dale Clark of Salina KS., and Stella Summer of Hoxie KS.; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Edith departed this life on June 1, 1986, in her home at McDonald KS. She was a past member of the Rebekas No. 331 of Atwood KS.
