William Morfitt died in England around 1831. Hannah Morfitt came to the United States with her four children on May 30, 1832 - three girls and one boy. The children were Thomas Morfitt, Sarah Morfitt, Anne Morfitt and Jane Morfitt. Thomas Morfitt died in Paterson on February 3, 1855 but there seems to be no record of his burial in the city of Paterson archives. Sarah Morfitt married John Ryle, the silk manufacturer of Paterson, in 1841. Jane Morfitt married George Smith but died shortly after their marriage in 1851. Anne Morfitt married Dominick Moore but died in 1882.

MORFITT - In this city, on Sunday morning, Oct. 9th, 1864, Mrs. Hannah Morfitt, aged 73 years and 7 months. Funeral from the Second Presbyterian Church on Tuesday afternoon, the 11th inst., at 2 o'clock. Friends of the family are invited to attend.
