CLARION-Mrs. Hazel Viola Shields, 81, of Clarion, widow of Clark E. Shields, died at 12:30
pm Thursday in Clarion Hospital.
The daughter of Leslie W. and Mary E. Shoup Hawk, she was born March 25, 1893 in Lawsonham, Clarion County.
She was married September 21,1921, to Clark E. Shields, who preceded her in death in June, 1964.
She was a member of the First Methodist Church of Clarion, where she attended the Good Samaritan Bible Class, of the Ladles Auxiliary of the VFW and a member of N.A.B.A.
She is survived by two sons, Leland E. of Wichita, Kansas, and Thomas A. of Centerville; and two daughters. Mrs. Paul (Kathryn) Mohney of Rimersburg RD 1, and Mrs. Charles (Betty) Harris of Cucamonga, California.
Also surviving are 14 grandchildren, two great grandchildren and a brother, Floyd Hawk of Rimersburg. Also preceding her in death were four brothers and two sisters.
The family will receive friends at the Robert V. Bums Funeral Home in Clarion after 7 pm Friday, and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm Saturday. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Sunday in the funeral home, with Rev. George Crooks of the First Methodist Church of Clarion officiating. Interment will be in the Rimersburg Cemetery.
