She was a lifelong resident of Locust Grove, a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. She was an avid Dodger Baseball fan, a hardcore Republican who enjoyed sitting on her porch swing watching the world go by.
Kay took a special nephew, Robbie Cooper, under her wing and raised him to be a fine man. She also had two very special friends who were like sisters to her, Jerrye Blevins and Undine Brock.
Survivors include, Robbie Cooper and his wife, Tammy and their children of Concord, Penny Altman and her husband, Stanley and their children of Locust Grove and other nieces and a nephew, Johnny Brightwell, Judy Inman, Sue Johnson, Denise Storey and Dayna Trammell; two sister-in-laws, Frances Brightwell Gammill and Mary Brightwell and one step-sister, Patty Reine.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Daphine Brightwell and Harvey Dean Cooper; two brothers, Aulden Brightwell and Arnold Brightwell and one nephew, Ronnie Brightwell.
Services are Saturday, December 20, 10:00 a.m., at the Willis Funeral Service Chapel in Batesville with Jim Chandler and Glen Swafford officiating. Burial will follow in the Locust Grove Cemetery under the direction of Willis Funeral Service of Batesville.
Pallbearers are Chad Blevins, Shane Blevins, Johnny Brightwell, Jonathon Cooper, Tim Storey and Jackie Trammell.
Honorary pallbearers are Timothy Altman, Nicholas Altman, Cody Cooper, Delton Rollins, Tyler Brightwell and L.C. Gammill.
Visitation is Friday evening from 5-7 p.m.
