The deceased left Illinois coming to Belle Plaine, KS when quite young. Lived there several years, removing thence to Joplin, MO about 1896, where he lived until coming on to Ponca City in 1919 in which community he has resided ever since.
He was married to Miss Alice Gainer in 1899. To this union six children were born, all now living as follows: Mrs. G.A. Sloan, Guy and Bryan, all three of Joplin, MO, Mrs. Frank Ille, Earl and Glen Cornwell all of Ponca City. He is survived by his wife, one sister, Mrs. Anna Morris of Pekin, IL, one brother, Steve Cornwell of Yukon, OK and four grandchildren.
Mr. Cornwell made the good confession early in life. Was a member of the Christian Church here. While he was never very active in church work, his companion desires that it be said of him that he tried to live up to the Golden Rule.
Short services were conducted at the family residence at 820 North Oak, 2:30 Wednesday afternoon. Fuller funeral services conducted immediately following at the Christian church by Arthur Brooks, pastor. After which the remains were laid away in the IOOF cemetery.
