Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon in the Monroe North ward chapel for Max Sorenson, 27, who died of an accidental gunshot wound, May 20, at the home of his mother Mrs. Clara Sorenson of Elsinore.
The services evere were under direction of the Elsinore ward bishopric, with Bishop Leon T. Madsen conducting.
Speakers were H. J. Hotter of Elsinore, Joseph Smith of Monroe and Bishop Madsen.
Musical numbers were a violin solo by Max Larson, accompanied by Miss Leslie a vocal solo; "Fleet as a Bird," by Leon T. Smith, accompanied by Mrs. Leon T. Smith; a vocal solo, "Resignation," by Mrs. Minnie Sylvester, accompanied by Mrs. Minnie Kotter; a vocal solo, "Over The Stars," by Mrs. Joan Swain, accompanied by Miss Larue Goold, and a vocal solo, "One Fleeting Hour," by Steiner Busk, accompanied by Mrs. Busk.
The invocation was by Woodruff Sylvester; the benediction by Elijah Jensen. Interment was in the Monroe cemetery. Bishop Arthur C. Lundgreen dedicated the grave.
There was a large attendance at the services and many beautiful floral offerings. Besides relatives and friends from Sevier county, those who attended included Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Goff, Miss Jennie Larson, Mr. and Mrs. Levi Mortensen, Mrs. F. F. Mawer, Mrs. Sylvan Thueson, Mrs. Linda Sorenson, Wilburn Cloward, Miss Fay Cloward and Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Christensen of Salt Lake, Leland Fulmer of Los Angeles, Mrs. J. E. Clyatt and Miss Lois Jensen of Ogden, Mr. and Mrs. Ned Christensen of Carbon county and Mr. and Mrs. Lorin Brian and Cecil Bertelsen of Ferron.
