Bruce Alan Chapman, 57, of Kalona, Iowa, died August 27, 2008, in Louisa County, Iowa, as a result of a vehicle accident. Bruce A. Chapman was born in Cheyenne, Wyoming, Sept 21, 1950, the son of Frank D and Velma J. (Cole) Chapman. He was united in marriage to Elyse Osincup June 13, 1982, in Baldwin Park, California.

He graduated in 1969 from Laramie High School, Laramie, Wyo and received a BA in History, Philosphy, and Political Science graduating Cum Laude from Azusa Pacific College, Azusa, Calif. He held California teaching credentials in History K - 12. Bruce attended the Masters Program for School Administration at Cal State University in Fullerton, Calif. He was a teacher in California and licenses contractor in California and Iowa. He served as a Specialist/4th Class in the US Army Signal Corps and served in Germany from 1970 - 1973. He was an Eagle Scout. He loved woodworking, antique store hunting, was a avaid reader, enjoyed history and dearly loved his country.

He is served by his wife Elyse,son Benjamin parents Frank and Velma, two sisters Barbara and husband Bruce Lobdell of Juneau, Alaska; Bonnie and husband Ed Prahl, Laramie, Wyoming, and many nieces, nephews.
