Service: Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick Cathedral, Father Antony Mathew officiating. Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park.
Oma was born in Massena, N.Y., on Nov. 27, 1938, to Laura and Lawrence Secours. She was married to Manfred Bertram for 32 years, from Nov. 25, 1961, until his death on March 6, 1994. They had four children.
Oma traveled around and lived throughout the world, including Munich, Germany, Johannesburg, South Africa and Sao Paulo, Brazil. With an easy spirit, she met the challenges of raising a family in foreign countries. While at first not knowing the language, she and her children would learn and love the cultures of the world.
Oma was a member of the Fort Worth Woman's Club, Club Fielite. She was president of Tri Psi (mothers of Tri Deltas). She was also president of St. Alice Garden Club and a member of the Fort Worth Garden Club, winning recognition for her gardening skills.
The family wishes to express its deepest gratitude to Tory Moran, who lovingly cared for Oma during the last year. She was known as Oma, or grandmother, to all who knew and loved her. Her 10 grandchildren were the joy of her life.
Oma was preceded in death by her parents; son, Eric; husband, Manfred Bertram; and brother, Emile Secours.
Survivors: Her children, Christoph Bertram and his wife, Catherine, Susi Fillmore and her husband, Chad, Erika Wendt and her husband, Tim; grandchildren, Paul and Anne Bertram, Courtney, Emily, Chad, Hartson and Hillary Fillmore, Jonah, Haden and Rebecca Wendt; siblings, Evelyn Arlow, Madeline Carroll and David Secours; sisters-in-law, Erika Bopp and Brigitte Bertram; countless other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.
