Marie was an honors graduate in 1971 from John Harris High School, also Michigan State University.
She was a retired manager from the Department of Labor and Industry and a fifty year member of Capital Presbyterian Church. She also enjoyed baking, crocheting, her pets, traveling to Atlantic City, and was avid Steelers Fan.
Marie was predeceased by her mother, Althenia A. Burton and will be sadly missed by her devoted father, William L. Burton, her sister, Patricia A. Wright, and brother, Walter L. Burton. She also leaves her loving nieces, Alysia Burton, Kendra Wright, Kymberli Roach (Reginald), and Tasha Wright, several great-nieces and great-nephews, along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Services will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2008 at 11 AM in her church, 1401 Cumberland Street, Harrisburg with a viewing at 10 AM. Her interment will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
