E. Arlene "Sis" Ahrns, 78, of Greenville, passed away Tuesday afternoon, December 23, 2008 at her residence. She was born in Darke County, daughter of the late Edward and Ethel (Thomas) Thwaits. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William L. Ahrns on March 3, 2003; a daughter, Pam Hacker; a grandson, Adam Gibson; sisters, Marjorie Goodpaster and Carolyn Thwaits; and a brother, Wilbur Thwaits.

She was retired from Omni Knitting in Greenville and was a member of the Trinty Wesleyan Church in Greenville.

She is survived by her children, Susan (Randy) Miller of Greenville, Robert (Delores) Hoschouer of Trinty, NC, Timothy (Roberta) Hoschouer of Greenville and April (John) Landis of Greenville; step daughters, Sandy (Bill) Setser of Union City, OH and Bambi Gibson of Ft. Gordon, GA; many grandchildren and great grandchildren;a brother, Lester Thwaits of Greenville; two sisters, Esther Ross and Marilyn Charles both of Greenville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Saturday, December 27, at 11 a.m. at the Trinty Wesleyan Church in Greenville. Burial will follow in the Abbottsville Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the church Saturday for 1 hour prior to the services. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to State of the Heart Hospice.

Services are under the direction of the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville.
