Beverly Larson was born on July 7, 1925 at home, 4609 Terrace, in Kansas City, Missouri. She was the youngest child born to Edith Larson after her marriage to Oscar Larson. Edith had a daughter, Dorothy, from a previous marriage. Her first husband, Eugene Clark, went missing, and was presumed dead. Oscar had two sons from his first marriage, Clay and Francis. He legally adopted Dorothy, giving her the Larson name.
While attending Shawnee Mission Rural High School, she met Aksel Klausen, who was to be the love of her life. Their first date was Saturday night, December 6, 1941, the night before the attack on Pearl Harbor. They were married in the evening of August 29, 1942 at the Larson home.
She was a member of Rainbow, Job's Daughters, and the Order of the Eastern Star.
Aksel and Beverly were the kind and loving parents of three sons, Mark, Mike, and David. Together, they taught them the family values of compassion, honesty, and hard work.
Beverly was a supervisor in manufacturing at Hallmark Cards. She then opened her own business, Beverly's for Beauty, a hair salon in Overland Park, Kansas. After years of being a stay-at-home Mom, she went to work for the Shawnee Mission School District, where she retired from the Donald Bonjour Elementary School, in Lenexa, Kansas.
Beverly passed away peacefully in the early morning of July 20, 2003, at home, with Aksel faithfully by her side. They had been happily married for nearly sixty-one years.
