Services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday at Miller Funeral Home in Vandalia, with the Revs. Robert Carter and Doug Wodtka officiating. Burial will be in Morton Cemetery, rural Vandalia. Visitation was held from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials: Overcup Baptist Church or Global Harvester for Children of Guatemala.
Rev. Fogler was born on Nov. 10, 1930, in Wheatland Township, Fayette County, the son of Samuel Wiley and Jessie Bell Rine Fogler. He married Fairy Lea Morton on Aug. 8, 1949, in Vandalia. He was a salesman for Meadow Gold Milk Co. and Electrolux Vacuums; a minister for Overcup Baptist Church, Patoka Baptist Church and Smithboro Baptist Church; and missionary in Guatemala, Haiti and Jamaica. He was a member of Overcup Baptist Church in rural Vandalia and Global Harvester Foundation, and a Teamster.
He is survived by his wife; sons, Steve Fogler and his wife Bonnie of Vandalia, and Dave Fogler and his wife Debbie of Toledo; grandchildren, Jilla, Sam, Willie, Jason and Cassie; great-grandchildren, Jeff, Monica, Madison, Bradley, Joshua, Eliza, Bryer, Alexis and Keilee; niece, Donna and her husband Ed Taylor Sr. of Vandalia; nephew, Billy Clymer and his wife Lorene of Vandalia; and brother-in-law, Bill Morton and his wife Norma of Vandalia.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and two sisters.
