Mary L. Brower, 88, died Monday, Sept. 12, 2005, at Berkeley Square Retirement Community, Hamilton, Ohio, where she had been a resident since 1999. She was born May 13, 1917, in Franklin County, Ind., to Earl and Dora VanAusdall Myers. On July 27, 1936, she was married in Franklin County to Harold P. Brower, who died May 10, 1995. She was devoted to raising her three boys and attending their sporting events. She enjoyed cooking, baking and feeding the children in the neighborhood. She never complained or said a cross word about anyone.

Survivors include three sons, Marvin E. Brower of Hamilton, Ohio, John M. Brower of Camden, Ohio, and Claire F. "Butch" Brower of Richmond, Ind.; a brother, Donald Myers of West College Corner, Ind.; three sisters, Margaret King of College Corner, Ohio, Annabelle Paulin of Oxford, Ohio, Jean Lanning of West Harrison, Ind.; two grandchildren, Claire Frances Ingram of Boston, Ind., and Susan Jacobs of Western Springs, Ill.; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Marvin and Paul Myers; two sisters, Helen Gilmore and Ruby Reiboldt.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. (Ohio time) Friday at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Baker Chapel, College Corner, Ohio, with Rev. Edwin Beck, former pastor of Berkeley Square Retirement Community, officiating. Interment will follow in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens, Boston, Ind. Friends may visit at the funeral home Thursday from 5-8 p.m. (Ohio time).

Memorials may be made at the funeral home to the Employees Activities Fund at Berkeley Square Retirement Community.
