Mrs. Delia Smith Dies at Amity

Services for Mrs. Delia Carter Smith, 56, who died Thursday, Aug. 11 at her home near here, were conducted Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Amity with the Rev. H M Collins, the Rev. Eddie Foster and the Rev. Cecil Pumphrey officiating.

Pallbearers were: D L Harrington, E M Verrell, James Wayne Whitt, Emmitt Houser, Charlie Pumphrey, and Johnny Hardin.

She was the daughter of the late George W Carter and Laura Wheeler Carter.

Mrs. Smith leaves her husband, Veston Smith; three daughters, Mrs. Eugene Murray of Woodland, Mrs. Roscoe Hinton, Jr., of Houlka, and Mrs. Jimmy Woffard of Woodland; a brother, Lester T Carter of Dunn, North Carolina, and six (grand) children.

She was a Baptist, and a member of the Amity Church.
