Thomas Laird (Tom) (Lawrence) McCausland wa one of 13 children born to William David McCausland & Roseanna Cecelia Dougherty-McCausland.

As a Scottish tradition, Fourth son named after his Fathers eldest brother, Thomas Laird McCausland . Also, a Scottish Tradition, Carries Grandmother's maiden name Sarah Dunn Laird- McCausland (female surnames were often used as a middle name, more so when the family have moved to another country).

Tom was a military Paratrooper in the 13th. Airborne Division, U. S. Army, WW II

Tom fought in the "Battle of the Bulge" on the Front Lines. He was under a 517th Parachute Infantry Regiment roster marked 1946. The 517th PIR became part of the 13th Airborne in a March 1945 reorganization. Previously it was the 517th Parachute Regimental Combat Team. Was in the 82nd Airborne. Not sure if he transferred from the 101st.

Tom had a Military funeral & is buried in Beverly National Cemetery in NJ., Section Y Grave 730
