José Luis Quiñones was a Sergeant in the United States Army. He served in Company B, 2nd. Battalion, 25th. Infantry Division during the Vietnam War.

He served in the United States Army until his death during combat on April 1st, 1970. He was awarded several medals for his military services: a Bronze Star Medal, 2 Oak Leaf Cluster Medals, an Army Commendation Medal and a Purple Heart Medal. He was 22 years old.

He was married to Carmen Nieves in 1967 and had no children.

He is buried at the Puerto Rico National Cemetery in Bayamon, Puerto Rico.
