Ruben Gaede, retired Little River farmer and a resident of the community all his adult life, died yesterday at Sandstone Heights Nursing Home in Little River at the age of 88.
Born March 9, 1900, in Hillsboro, he married Helen Davis on October 29, 1933, in Geneseo. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Little River.
Survivors are his wife; a son, Byron L. Gaede of Longmont, Colo.; two daughters, Edythe Vibbert of Hutchinson and Kay Purkapile of Olathe; 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
