The relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral services Friday, February 23, 2007 at the graveside in Magnolia Cemetery at Two O'clock. Friends may call at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL Thursday between five and seven.
Mrs. Allen was born August 9, 1928 in Charleston, SC, the daughter of Moultrie Quirk Roberts and Kathryn Jones Roberts Dennis.
She was a graduate of Memminger High School and attended the Medical College of South Carolina, School of Pharmacy.
She was a member of The French Huguenot Society and was a past president of The Citadel Wives Club.
She retired as an Administrative Assistant with the College of Charleston.
She is survived by her son: Norman A. Allen, III and his wife Theresa of Mt. Pleasant, SC; her daughter: Nan A. Chamblee and her husband Ronald of Charleston, SC; two brothers: Moultrie Quirk Roberts, Jr. of Newberry, SC and Joseph Rhame Roberts and his wife Sandra of Sumter, SC; four grandchildren: Brian A. Chamblee and his wife Rozzalline, Amanda Chamblee, Norman A. Allen, IV, Steven Allen and several nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by three sisters, Irene Quirk Roberts, Ida Roberts Hiott and Katherine Roberts Kendrick. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to John Ancrum SPCA, 3861 Leeds Avenue, Charleston, SC 29405 or to a charity of one's choice.
