Mrs. J.W. Ray, 70
Mrs. J.W. Ray widely known matron of Rosedale, died at her home Thursday night after a long illness.
She was 70, years old and had made her home in Rosedale for the past 15 years. She was a member of the Rosedale Baptist church.
Surviving Mrs. Ray are five sons Kelley Ray of Tuscaloosa, King Ray of Gordo, Jesse Ray of Ashland, Marvin Ray and Levi Ray both of Tuscaloosa, and four daughters, Mrs Wiley Todd, OF Bon Secour, Mrs JD Carr, Miss Jane Ray and Miss Thelma Ray Tuscaloosa. She is also survived by one sister Mrs Louise Gill of Marion and 17 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10 o'clock Saturday morning from the Rosedale Baptist church with the Rev EL Lewis and the Rev J T Swann officiating.
Jones and Spigener will direct burial in Sardis cemetery in Perry County.
Active pallbearers will be WT Moore, JV Moore, MG Campbell, HO Moore, Johnny Cooker and Clifton Johnston.
Honorary pallbearers will include JL Hartley, JB Doughty, JS Gray JW Hall, Vernon Hobson, Gray Campbell, Curtis Quimby, OL Campbell, Rosco Duncan, SD Allen, VB Miller, DP Brown, DR JW Wilson, WS Smith, HD Porter and JW Griffin.
