Curtis Lorain Palmer, 77, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2008, at his home.
He was born March 22, 1931, in Cape Girardeau, son of Burt Charles and Christine Cook Palmer.
Palmer served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict.
He worked for Santa Fe Railroad more than 20 years.
Survivors include three sons, Mike Palmer of Glendale, Ariz., William Curtis Palmer and fiancee Kathy Fowler of Cape Girardeau, Jeff Palmer of Peoria, Ariz.; five daughters, Shirley Wayman and Patty Jasomartinez of Glendale, Carol Davis of Hamilton, Texas, Frankie Hoverson of Phoenix and Sharon Godoy of Indianapolis.
Also two brothers, Jim Palmer of Fruitland, David Palmer of Metomora, Ill.; four sisters, Shirley Hency of Fruitland, Patsy Roth of California, Janet Beard of Sandburg, Tenn., Marilyn Enlow of Washington, Ill.; and 45 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and two sisters.
Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Hobbs Chapel Cemetery. The Rev. Randall Morse will officiate. Full military honors will be conducted by the Missouri Honors Team.
Ford and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
