He was born Oct. 6, 1923, in New London, the son of the late Raymond and Yetta Palitz Green.
Mr. Green attended local schools in New London and served in the U.S. Army.
He worked as a boiler operator for Continental Can and later at the Groton Sub Base.
He was a member of the New London Lodge of Elks and was an avid fisherman in the area.
He is survived by a brother, Donald Green of San Antonio, Texas; a sister, Dorothy Reider of Summerset, N.J.; a niece, Joann Kelly of Flemington, N.J., along with other nieces and nephews.
