Billy Joe as born and raised in Floydada and graduated from Floydada High School. He served in the U. S. Navy during World War II on the U. S. S. Wasp. Mr. DuBois was a farmer and rancher all his life. He moved to Leon County with his wife, Wanda Nell DuBois in 1985.
DuBois was preceded in death by his wife of over fifty-eight years, Wanda Nell Lackey DuBois; one grandson, Billy Cole DuBois and his parents, William Edell and Audrey Kennedy DuBois.
He is survived by two sons, Billy Craig DuBois and wife, Gail Poteet of Floydada and Quinn DuBois and wife, Michelle Poteet of Jewett; five grandchildren, Christie DuBois Cruse and husband, Talon of Flomot, Cindy DuBois and Barry Eddleman of Floydada, Kody Michael DuBois of Jewett, Kyle Willis of Marlin and Taylor Kristen DuBois of Jewett; five great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
Memorials may be made to the Bereavement Fund at First Baptist Church of Floydada, Light the Cross, c/o American State Bank in Floydada or to the Floydada Senior Citizens Center.
