Helen C. Bebb, 89, of Cedar Falls, died Wednesday, Dec. 24, at Western Home Communities Martin Center.

She was born Nov. 12, 1919, in Plum Creek, daughter of John William and Augusta Marie Petersen Schulz. She married Dr. Randall R. Bebb on Dec. 23, 1957, in Cedar Falls. He died April 11, 1999.

After high school, Mrs. Bebb taught rural school until the outbreak of World War II. She then worked with her sister, Berdie at Lockheed Aviation followed by service as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army. Following the war, she received her bachelor's degree from Luther College, and her master's degree in education from Iowa State Teachers College. She taught at Castle Hill School and later at Edison Junior High, Waterloo.

Survived by: two sons, Mark R. (Susan) of Green Oaks, Ill., and Dennis E. (Jo) of Oelwein; five grandsons, Hayes of Chicago, Stet of Oakland, Jay of Green Oaks, Nicolas of Cedar Falls and Andrew of Iowa City.

Preceded in death by: a brother, John Schulz; and three sisters, Dorothy Harig, Catherine Harris and Bertha "Berdie" Vitzthum.

Services: 1:30 p.m. Monday at United Church of Christ, with burial in Fairview Cemetery. Public visitation from 2 to 5 p.m. today at Richardson Funeral Home.

Memorials: may be directed to Alzheimer's Association or the Western Home.
