Aaron Edmond Wards, 72, retired farmer and stockman, of 734 S. Cherry died in Ransom Memorial Hospital on Saturday at 5:30 PM. In failing health several years, he was seriously ill a week.
He was born in Osborne County, Kansas on November 29, 1886 the son of Eugene A. and Sarah M. Buck Wards. He had lived in Franklin and Osage counties since childhood. He married Edna May Ashcraft on August 10, 1909 in Lyndon. He was a member of the Methodist Church.
Surviving are the widow, one daughter Mrs. Alton Jones, Melvern, three sons Eugene H. of Olathe, Ralph A. of Overland Park and Francis E. of Plattsmouth, Nebraska. There are 12 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and one brother, William H. of Tulsa also surviving.
Services will be at McVey-Dengel on Wednesday at 2 PM. Burial will be at Woodside Cemetery at Pomona.
