Malinda Catherine Adams was born November 8th, 1843 in Weakley County. She married Charles M. Templeton on January 14th, 1861 in Weakley County. Charles, born on November 15th, 1839, was the son of Martin Templeton II and Susanna A. Lovelace Templeton. Malinda and Charles had nine children. They lived on a part of the 640-acre farm, near the Public Well Church which they inherited from James Adams Jr. Malinda was educated at the small Public Well School. After her husband Charles died on October 23rd, 1899, she reduced her household to a few personal items and lived with her children. Although she spent most of her time with her son Christopher "Lum" Columbus Templeton. Malinda died on April 11th, 1930. She and Charles are both buried in Public Well Cemetery in Weakley County.

Malinda was living with her son, Charles Columbus Templeton, when the 1930 Census was recorded on 31 March 1930.
