Obituary
John G. Pierson
John G. Pierson, son of Jacob and Lydia Pierson, was born at Eddyville, Ia., June 29, 1865, and died at Monroe hospital, Albia, April 26, 1956, at the age of 90 years, nine months and 27 days.
He operated a farm south of Albia for many years.
His marriage to Jennie E. Rowles took place on March 18, 1897. They became the parents of two sons and a daughter. The daughter died at the age of four years.
His wife died in April, 1947.
Survivors are two sons, Edgar Pierson and Earl Pierson, both of Albia; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Mr. Pierson was a charter member of the Albia United Brethren church, and was active in construction of the church building in which his funeral services were held April 28. In charge of the rites were the Rev. C.L. Young, a former pastor, and the Rev. Paul Beckman, pastor. Burial was in Oakview cemetery.
