General David Kirkland, 39, of 53 Ben Lippen Road, Asheville, died Sunday April 10, 2005 at his residence.
Mr Kirkland was born in Cherokee and was a son of Dolly Dover Kirkland of Whittier and the late Charles J. Kirkland.
He was employed by GDS and attended Antioch Baptist Church.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Renee Kirkland; three sisters, Rosemarie Harris of Bryson City,
Mary Kirkland of Waynesville and Donna Hardison of Whittier, brother Shorty James Kirkland of Whittier; one son, one daughter; nine nieces and nephews; and 10 great nieces and great-nephews.
The graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Birdtown Cemetery with the Rev. Bryan Rhodarmer and Lloyd Brown officiating.
Pallbears will be Anthony Woody, David Green, Randy Harris, John Green, Dustin Kirkland and Mark Hoglen.
His family will receive friends from 7 to 8:38 Tuesday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue.
